We've got bullet trains, chuga-chuga trains, tiny hand trains, microscopic mutant trains, passenger trains, t-rains, train-s, TrainStation 2s, NinTraindo Railyard Switches, and the train you missed that changed your destiny forever.
Ah, wait, I didn't check your ticket, did I? Oh well, you get to enter all the trains simultaneously. Welcome to my Freedom Multiverse where any freedom or lack-there-of can be undone by another version of the same freedom, but this time with a beard or something. No, with sideburns! Writing is easy!
The grand, grinding rails of life has come into station at last and I've been able to shrug off some of my (self-imposed) heavy baggage. This leg of the journey was akin to me stepping out the back of the caboose and saying "I bet I can standard here for the next 8-hours straight because I like watching the pretty trees." Then I streamed it for pennies on the dollar, then the trees kept telling me I was wasting my time, and this metaphor has run aground. In short, I'm free of my own shackles, and I still haven't finished the Grandma demo.
No, Grandma! Don't be disappointed! DON'T GET THE WOODEN SPOON!
Look, this was more of an "idea guy" sort of month because I still couldn't find a way to like what the demo was turning out to be. Several times, the entire concept was thrown on the ground just to be picked back up again to look at from a new angle. On and on that particular dance went until I finally think I'm on to something in the triangle of Cool, Okay, and Spooky - and that last one was what really suffered in the first iterations. It's tough to be scary when you don't feel the vibes, and my friend, those vides were not flowing. It was a constant sense of being at a party after a big fight, or being forced to stay home instead of going to your favorite Hooters for Women. Your mind is stuck in one gear when every other photon of energy around you is in another, and now that (insert another train metaphor here), the simplification is beginning to bring out the fearful stuff again. Also, some guy reached out to me asking if my un-released game would like to be in something he called "Tinder, but for games" and I've never been so dumb-flattered in all my life.
Panoramic, as of yesterday, has posted its last episode. Sadge. The next series also began a few weeks ago. Hap-hap.
Last month's curveball, The Last Avatar, has kicked off in a very lovely way, and is rolling month-to-month now. The level of editing this one takes compared to Panoramic is about 2-to-1, meaning I could just pay one person to do a thing with Pan episodes, but it takes three people to glare at every episode until things just kinda slide together out of fear. A lot of that is music-related, and I have to shout out Simon Gross and Mamoru O for their beautiful music, and John N for his ability to take my ramblings and create art. This one succeeding, especially with Avatar love back at a fever-pitch, means more to me than it probably should, and the definition of "succeeding" here is super-low, so what could go wrong?! I think that's my train to the next station, which is moving into (actual) demo completion territory, another demo moving forward territory, and some more secret-but-not-life-consuming projects to add. With a stop-over in f*cking Dayton, Ohio for some reason. And the dining cart is closed due to an outbreak of Fin Rot. I miss Spirit Airlines...
