Sometimes, when you stare deeply into the eyes of deep, black madness, the madness stares back looking for coupon codes to discount his latest eBay craze.
What's more adcictive, you think? Sugar, the tears of your enemies, or the entire concept of a wishlist? My money lately has been on that sweet, sweet I.O.U. to the product maker that "I'll totally buy that thing later, bruh, no worries." It's just right there, isn't it? Right up on the line of purchasing, emitting enough good vibin' photons to keep the sales party going without actually buying anything.

I've also realized I am a wishlist tease. "Hey, it's on sale now," they cry. "Splendid," I start, "however, I find myself beneath a cavalcade of unplayed games. I shall pass this time." And so it goes for years and years until it's free through Epic.

Now let's talk about Honorable Mentions. They're bullshit lip-service. They're an honor to receive. They're that aggravating space between "Oh...well, you tried" and sniffing a trophy for the rest of your life. The "You Placed" ribbon to a "I Guess You Showed Up Ribbon". The kind where someone's partner tried very hard to sew the letters straight, and bless them for trying.

In unrelated news, one of my scripts received an Honorable Mention. Yay/boo.

It's fine. Of the four scripts I currently have out thee, it was the one I had the least confidence in receiving anything, but I also thought I selected a really good festival. I guess the number on this side of that equation is a 7 out of 10, which...I'll be fine with eventually. The feedback was effusive is the problem. "Everything's great!" feels more meaningless than raaaiiiiiinnnnn on your wed-ding day when you barely crack the top 20-30 percent of all participants.

But hey - words are words, placements are placements. I'm 1/1 with a hope of going 4/4. Let the rationalizations commence!

What the hell else happened in June...hm, well, a lot of house reno stuff. Popcorn ceilings being served ion bowls with butter and cinnamon salt to relatives we'd rather just not visit. Purposeless rooms being gutted only to remain purposeless. A single garage self being erected to hold Barbie clothes and duct tape. Don't call to check on the party - it's always happening here.

In the digital world, progress inches forward like a 90s loading screen. Grandma is to the nuts and bolts phase - F.I.N.A.L.L.Y. -  and I would honestly be surprised if the demo didn't find it's way across the finish line this month. The buckets of small details that remain revolve around the end game cutscene and new details for those that want to demo for a second time of demo. And honestly, with the brevity at play in this bad boy, I already have another bucket of "this kinda sucks" to update, BUT THAT VOICE SHALL NOT WIN THE DAY! Don't let flawlessness be the enemy of blah-dy, blah-dy, blah.

The Triforce of Courage of the month is the new radio show...called....The Last Avatar!

CURVEBALL!

Yep, it's a fan-show. Yep, it's not canon. Nope, no one gets shipped (as the kids say), and this isn't some weird re-write of plot points or characters I didn't like (looking at you Mako). This is a straight-up sequel to Korra set as closely to the rules and lore of the overall universe as I can...and I use as few characters from the OG series(es) as I was comfortable with.

While I'd consider it a hilarious honor to be sued, I have no true ambition to see a court summons enter the chat, so I'd ask you to come in ready for an original story that builds off the foundation Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios laid, forgot about, built upon, forgot about, and will build upon again this year.

Those episodes will start going live next month just as Panoramic wraps it's final episode. That'll give me time to, you know, finish enough episodes to feel comfortably ahead of the curve.

July is demo-time, new writing time, and episode making time. The best part? New demo time means that I'll I'll get to jingle my little coffee tin asking for Wishlists myself! It's a free riiiiiddddeeee when you're al-read-y late!
