Writing Adventures

Welcome to the icy thunder dome where we really do walk uphill through the snow both ways.
Move complete. Furniture built. Boxes broken down. Post-move magic still alive. Strange new areas explored. Keys...already sticky.
The writing gears have been slippery early on with the whole mental exhaustion thing taking center stage. Yet, the brain train pushes up-hill to the tasty treats above. Just because words cometh does not mean they sound-y any wellness...damn it all!
S'all good in the end, just an extra layer of rough drafting until the wheels lubricate themselves back into the top levels of the ivory tower I write from. I'm writing from the lobby right now. It's nice.
I finally heard back from all of my contests/submissions with a resounding thud - minus the Writing Battle (kinda). I wrote a thriller with a colony in there about a space virus and moon perverts, and that was good enough to land me in the quarter-finals. While I don't put much stock in the opinion of strangers, I do see patterns, and there was a clear pattern in the feedback. Too. Much.
Not that the story was ass, per-se. Just too much going on for 1,000 words to hold effectively. My writing is always at its worse when I shove too many ideas in one space because I have a bad habit of marrying myself to every idea I put on a blank space. This is a domino effect that I recognize much more readily through the eyes of another, but another ain't always available.
Anywho-y, one more submission this week for March's trifecta. This one will be for a retelling of fairy tales that I'm very much into - so much that I have two ideas, and only ONE isn't turning out well! What a day! Writing streams shall return once I plow through some off-screen projects and set up a few more cool ideas for success. I've got voluptuous ideas ahead as long as I don't, oh I don't know, melt into a pool of acid.
What are the chances of that happening a third time?
