A month of writing that has seemed like several years is coming to a close...........................?
I. Am. A. WINNER!
A WINNER IS ME!
I NAME THIS MOUNTAIN BLABBERJACK BECAUSE I HAVE CONQUERED IT!
Well...kinda. Sorta. I guess.
The Green Shoes results came back and I received second place. Which is, I'm told, something to be proud of. You know, like surviving a gunshot wound or being "middle class".
I am thoroughly grateful for the votes/love thrown at me like so much grass from an uncovered lawnmower. I am also sick and tired of - my opinion alert - worse-written stuff winning because it has the equivalent of "and then nazis". Putting fiction to stuff that happened is not - I repeat - not evidence of more creativity, simply that someone knows how to read the first page of Google results for "stuff that'd make a cool set piece in this short story I have no ending for."
Digression complete - I'll limp along with my second-place honors just fine, thank you.
No word on the other comps, which is expected - minus one, which I think is taking the "silence = rejection" angle. So, cool.
The stuff I have been writing is for a super-secret project that will mean nothing to anyone but me...and I guess anyone that likes fan fiction. I haven't done any in several lifetimes (I checked) but I have a really strong idea for this particular deep pit as well as some handy spelunking tools, so I figured why not?
Why? The. Fuck. Not.
