Here, on the wide open roads, there is only the living, the dead, and the furry. This month was filled with trying to keep the furry alive and well. A month of highs, a month of lows, and a month of unseasonably medium temperatures has led to a very odd holiday indeed. Several travels and mental jackassary threatened to undermine several projects at once. it turns out that life needs living, and the people in your life need you around to feel alive sometimes. Most times - all times, if you include bathroom breaks. That's not just a this-time-of-the-year problem but it likely brings a twinkle to Jesus' eye to see this revelation happen during his birthday month. Woven throughout filling those that I love with further love, some amazing breakthroughs took place. working in Unreal 5 has been a nightmare of anxiously making sure what I'm searching for on forums matches my current version, setup etc. All devs everywhere search for answers online, but very few have to worry about updates to systems as frequent as those in public game engines. even so, this sled pushes up hill and serious obstacles were overcome. The largest of those obstacles was, you know, just the linchpin of most of my games - changing control schemes between various levels. Variety is the spice of something and something something cinnamon in my eye. As ever, it was something minor - a newbie manhole I had strolled into with a smile and smacked every pipe on the way into the sewer. Swerving into another pile of something has been a handful various writing adventures. These are smooth as silk, easy as rolling off a pile of dildos, or setting fire to an empty factory. I was born to never have writer's block and never run out of ideas. No, I don't think this is a jinx and of course I'm not knocking on anything wooden right now. This month was about refining the old, crappy work I had done like three months ago on a television pilot and a movie script idea. The pilot I've had in my head ever since listening to Jungle's wonderfully kinetic song Keep Moving. The slow build in the beginning that hatches into a solo plea to toss it away - everything you don't understand - and just fucking run hits a perfect harmony with me. I endeavored to create a series that captures that with action and story woven into the same visual queues. After two episodes, I'm relatively pleased with the first and have some really good ideas on improving the second. Six thirty-minute episodes is the aim, but I anticipate polishing these two a little more before showing them around. The second big writing piece is an action-comedy movie script that i finally moved into rough draft one range. The one sentence pitch is "Eating the rich has never tasted so good." So...ponder that as you will. This one's both ahead and behind the TV episodes since there are more moving parts and a wider arc involved. All that means is that I'm not happy with it yet, but I'll be posting some very juicy scenes when my heart grows three sizes.
Moving into January, the focus will be very much on video games, the new YouTube, building a new to-do timeline, and continuing to reach out to more people for help. Collaboration is almost always better than going solo as long as it's done the right way. Eating horses is better on the furry road together. Let us be witnessed and bare witness to 2024!
